Posted on 10/24/2025 | By Jeff Daro As of July 21, 2025, Elite Engineering & Manufacturing is ISO 9001:2015 certified. There was quite a bit of documentation involved getting there, but now we have official proof that our quality management system is up to spec. What is ISO 9001? ISO 9001 is basically a set of baseline requirements for any quality management system, or QMS for short. It’s broken down into various sections, a.k.a. clauses, that cover all aspects of what that system should be able to do. Clause 10, for example, talks all about what the QMS should cover with regards to improving the quality of the parts we make. Why we got certified The bottom line? To save prospective customers time and money. We wanted a way to show any of them that we have the knowledge and capability to handle any part or project that they throw at us. Now normally when sending jobs to a new vendor, it can go one of two ways. They deliver what you need, or they don’t. There are ways to vet any new vendor, but they all cost you time, money, or both. When a vendor is ISO 9001 certified, you can be sure that they meet or exceed a minimum standard of quality control. That makes the overall risk of sending the job to them much less than going in blind. How this affects our current customers Honestly, not very much. Apart from some small improvements in documentation, almost all of our internal quality processes and procedures are still the same. It just that now we have a certificate that confirms what we’ve always known; our system consistently produces quality parts and assemblies for our customers. It’s a big part of why we’ve been in business for 30 years. To get an overview of our QMS, take a look at our quality manual
